BROS GOSS GETTING BIGGER

James Bartlett reports from LA on the recent Comic-Con in San Diego where London’s mega singer turned actor Luke Goss was riding a high profile. .

*******************

Bartlett writes: "Comic-Con is the largest comic book convention in the world and now a major platform for the studios to announce their latest superhero projects.

So zillions of nerdish types descend on San Diego for the massive convention to buy toys, posters and books, and also to pack halls to the rafters to see actors, directors and special advance clips of comic/animation based movies to come.

Brit Goss, (yes, he of the 80’s boy band “Bros” and recent evil guy in Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (pictured) appeared to plug his role in the forthcoming adaptation of Top Cow hit comic book Magdalena.

Goss switched from music and musicals to film in 2000 and has clocked up some two dozen films, which led to his moving to LA in early 2007.

This new role confirms the logic of his change of country.

Unfamiliar with this super character Magdalena?

The theory is that after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, reputed to be his wife, gave birth to a daughter, Sarah.

From this child is descended the holy lineage of the Magdalena, a royal bloodline that passes great power and great honor from mother to daughter, with The Magdelena of the day serviing as the warrior and protector of the Catholic Church, battling the forces of evil.

In the Top Comic version in play here, the Magdelena is a well-endowed lass called Patience, and that part has apparently gone to the well-endowed Jenna Dewan.

The film comes from the team behind monumental titles such as Aliens, the Terminator, and Armageddon so it’s going to be a big one for Goss.
